Payton Anderson joined McCausland Barrett & Bartalos, P.C. in October 2023. Prior to that, Payton attended the University of North Texas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He then earned his Juris Doctor at Michigan State University College of Law in May 2022. There, he was the President of the Black Law Student Association and a member of the Bryant-Moore Moot Court Competition team. He further participated in Michigan State’s Know Your Right Day for his final two years, where law students travel to a Detroit high school to educate the students on 4th and 5th amendment rights.

 

He began his legal journey as a Compliance Associate at JPMorgan Chase Co., but sought out his true calling in litigation.

 

Payton is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, but is a Texan at heart. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym, watching movies, playing flag football around the country, and emphatically cheering for his hometown team the New Orleans Saints. However, the longer he remains in Kansas City, the more Chiefs Kingdom grows on him.
